Dust Your Ceiling Fan

When you don’t have a cleaning schedule, it’s pretty easy to ignore the dust accumulating on your ceiling fans. Mine often get ignored until I can actually start seeing the dust spill over the fan blades!

Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to clean a ceiling fan, especially when done on a regular basis.

2  Tricks to Clean a Ceiling Fan

If you use a regular towel to wipe off the dust, the dust ends up going everywhere!  Start with the Rainbow with your dusting tool, careful to get the vents around the motor. Use a pillowcase to clean the ceiling fan without a mess. Just put the pillowcase over the entire blade and wipe.

Better yet, put a microfiber cloth inside the pillowcase to “grab” the dust sitting on top of your fan.

Set the Rotation of Your Ceiling Fan

While you’re up there, make sure your ceiling fan is rotating the correct way. Since warmer weather is on its way, you’ll want to turn your ceiling fan clockwise so the air blows and cools you down. Technically the direction is clockwise, but keep in mind that this looks counterclockwise if you are looking up at the ceiling fan blades.

That’s it! Surely we can tackle this little project in 5-15 minutes.
