Clean Sink and Garbage Disposal

A dirty sink can make or break the way a kitchen looks and functions. Even a “clean” kitchen can feel dirty if it has a dingy, gunky sink. Thankfully, you can have a clean sink in less than 5 minutes if you do it right.
GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES
• Bar Keepers Friend
• Cleaning cloth
• Deep clean brush set
• All-purpose Cleaner
SET A TIMER
“Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.” – Parkinson’s Law
Keep your goal clear: Clean the kitchen sink. Set a timer and knock it out!
CLEAN SINK
The first step when cleaning your kitchen sink:
get rid of the dishes.
Since you are cleaning your kitchen every night before you go to bed, then deep cleaning the sink is a great next step.
Clean the interior of the sink:
Barkeeper’s friend works on just about every sink surface that I’ve tried. So if you have some, sprinkle it on the interior and use a cleaning cloth to shine up the sink.
Pay attention to all the crevices:
around the faucet
• around the drain
• in the drain
• on the garbage disposal flaps (if you have one)
• under the ridge of your counters if you have an under-mount sink clean the exterior of the sink:
Use an all-purpose spray and your brush set to clean the area of your sink that connects to your counters (if you have a drop-in sink). Also, scrub around the faucet and sprayer.
Finally, rinse and dry the entire sink:
…this will really make it shine!
CLEAN THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL
When you’re finished with the sink, give your garbage disposal some TLC, too.

The best way to clean and disinfect your garbage disposal is to just do it when the opportunity strikes!

If you peel an orange to eat or squeeze lemon juice in a recipe, throw the rind in the garbage disposal and give it a whirl. It even SMELLS clean and fresh! After you wash the dishes and wipe down the counters and sink, throw a couple of ice cubes in the garbage disposal and grind away
.
Your assignment for today:
• Set your timer. Then work to get a spotless, clean sink and clean your garbage disposal if you have one.
