My family and I usually enter our home through the back door, so I don’t always get a good look at the front door until I open it for a guest. By that time, it’s often too late—they’ve already seen the cobwebs and dirt kicked up on the door from a recent rainstorm. You might be in a similar situation. Let’s take a few minutes today to spruce up the front door!
**Spring Cleaning the Front Door**
First, step outside and take a good look at your front door. If this were your first time visiting, what impression would you get as you approach? Is it welcoming? Is it dirty? What would you change?
Next, grab a broom to sweep off the front porch. Remove any cobwebs, wasp nests, or even the beginnings of bird nests. Yes, we’ve dealt with all of these! After that, take a wet rag and wipe away any dirt and debris.
Finally, consider any changes you could make today or in the future. Does the paint need touch-ups? Could your door or porch use some decor? How about adding a few spring flowers?
The goal isn’t perfection, but a little front-door personality never hurts! Enjoy sprucing up your front door today. If you have time, don’t forget to clean the back door as well.
