After spending the past few days cleaning the oven and refrigerator, let’s tackle another appliance. Today, let’s focus on something a little easier: cleaning the microwave!
We all know that it’s easy to keep your microwave clean if you wipe it down after every use. But I wonder how many of us actually do that? For those who tend to skip the wipe-down more often than not, let’s take 5 minutes today to clean the microwave.
To clean your microwave easily:
– Fill a microwave-safe cup or bowl with water and microwave it on high until the water boils (around 4-5 minutes). If you’d like to use a natural disinfectant, you can replace half of the water with vinegar. Adding a squirt of lemon juice will also give it a fresh scent.
– After the water boils, keep the microwave door closed for a few minutes so the steam can soften any grime.
– Use a damp rag (you can use some of the warm water from the bowl) to wipe down the inside of the microwave. For extra tough spots, a kitchen scraper works wonders!
– Wash the glass tray in the sink or simply place it in the dishwasher to do the work for you.
Your tasks for today:
– Continue working on Habit #5.
– Clean your microwave.
– Add this task to your Rainbow calendar and keep up with it.
